Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathgodam → Drive to Khati (2,200m)
Drive: 10–12 hours via Bageshwar (~250 km).
Highlights: Arrive in Khati, a quaint Himalayan village. Rest and prepare for the trek.
Stay: Guesthouse/Camping
Day 2 : Khati → Trek to Dwali (2,600m)
Trek: 12 km | 6–7 hours.
Trail: Follow the Pindar River, passing dense pine forests and waterfalls.
Highlights: Campsite at Dwali, surrounded by towering peaks.
Stay: Tented camps.
Day 3: Dwali → Trek to Martoli (~3,400m)
Trek: 9 km | 5–6 hours.
Trail: Gradual ascent through alpine meadows with panoramic mountain views.
Highlights: Sunset views of the Pindar Valley. Acclimatize for the glacier hike.
Stay: Tented camps.
Day 4: Martoli → Pindari Glacier (3,660m) → Return to Dwali
Trek: 12 km (round trip) | 6-7 hours.
Trail: Steep climb to Zero Point, the glacier’s snout. Walk on moraines for final views.
Highlights: Glacial vistas, icy streams, and the mighty peaks of Nanda Devi, Nanda Khat Nanda Kot and Baljyuri
Return: Descend to Dwali for the night.
Stay: Camp/Guesthouse.
Day 5: Dwali → Return to Khati
Trek: 12 km downhill to Khati(4–5 hours).
Day 6: Khati → Kathgodam
Drive: Return to Kathgodam (10–12 hours).
Key Details:
Best Time: April–June (spring) and September–November (autumn).
Difficulty: Moderate (suitable for beginners with basic fitness).
Permits: Not required, Registeration at the local forest office in Khati will be done.
Packing Essentials:
- Layered clothing, trekking shoes, waterproof gear.
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, reusable water bottle.
- First-aid kit, energy snacks, and a camera!
